TOUGH BUT REWARDING SWEDISH GP FOR HUSQVARNA’S ENDURO 1 RIDERS

Marking the start of the second half of the 2016 Enduro World Championship the GP of Sweden brought yet more wet and challenging conditions for the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team. With the recent GP of Finland offering a welcomed break from mud races, in Sweden it was back to wet weather and plenty of mud.

Enduro 1 teammates Danny McCanney and Pascal Rauchenecker battled their way through the tough Swedish conditions to each finish on the podium. McCanney was the first to earn a top-three result, placing third at the end of the first day’s competition. Steadily returning to form following his off-season knee surgery, Danny, like all riders, made a number of mistakes during the first day but nevertheless claimed a well-deserved third place result. Just one place behind McCanney, Pascal Rauchenecker placed fourth.

On day two McCanney again seemed to be headed for a third place result, but frustratingly saw his good start to the day halted when he clipped a rock and damaged his rear sprocket. Losing time he managed to remain in the race and placed ninth.
