Continuing his impressive run of form in the Enduro World Championship, Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro 2 Team rider Loic Larrieu ended round six of the 2016 series with a solid runner-up result on day two at the GP of Spain. Teammate Cristobal Guerrero wrapped up his home GP with two top eight results.

Held on the varied terrain of the Basque countryside in and around the small town of Gordexola, the GP of Spain proved to be another mentally and physically exhausting event for all riders. Battling through mixed weather conditions and an extremely tough course, Loic and Cristobal battled their way to the end of two demanding days of competition.

Gradually improving his pace after a cautious start on day one Larrieu went on to record top three times in four out of the nine special tests, winning the motocross test on the penultimate lap. Loic eventually finished his day in fifth place, 11 seconds behind the top three in Enduro 2.

As the terrain got drier Loic was able to improve his speed on the second day of the event. Impressively fast around the eight-minute long motocross test the Frenchman went on to claim a well-deserved runner-up result in Enduro 2 to earn a spot on the E2 class podium for the fifth time this season. Loic also was a runner-up in the overall EnduroGP standings on day two.

For Larrieu’s Outsiders Yamaha Official Enduro 2 Team partner Cristobal Guerrero the GP of Spain started with a strong fifth place result in the opening Super Test on Friday evening. Staying consistent throughout the weekend Cristobal ended his home round of the series with eight and seventh place results in Enduro 2.

With six out of eight rounds of the 2016 Enduro World Championship now completed, Loic Larrieu now sits fourth in the Enduro 2 championship standings having reduced the gap to third-placed Taylor Robert to just one point. Cristobal Guerrero remains sixth.

The 2016 FIM Enduro World Championship will now move to Fabriano in Italy for round seven of the series on July 16/17.
