GEICO and KRT team up for Laguna Seca WorldSBK
One of the biggest specialist insurance providers in America has teamed up for the second year in a row with the Kawasaki Racing Team at the Laguna Seca round of the World Superbike Championship.
In 2015, GEICO was the official round sponsor of the Kawasaki factory team with the formidable combination of Tom Sykes and Jonathan Rea on the podium in both races thanks to their Ninja ZX-10R machines.
Now, equipped with a brand new Ninja Superbike for the 2016, the two KRT riders have continued their Championship domination with each destined to become an event ambassador for GEICO at the 3.6 kilometer Californian circuit made world famous by its dramatic and complex Corkscrew turn.
Founded in 1936 and specializing in motorcycle and rider insurance, GEICO is a household name and has grown to become one of the biggest insurers in America. Always re-investing in two wheeled sport, GEICO have shown their commitment at Laguna Seca by also taking the role of title sponsor for the entire event.
Speaking about the opportunity to become involved in the ninth round of an already thrilling season, GEICO vice president Ted Ward said, “We are very excited to team up with KRT for an outstanding sporting event. The Laguna Seca WSB Weekend is one of the top destinations for motorcycle racing and offers a great opportunity for us to engage superbike fans from across the country.”
