EMPHATIC MOTO VICTORY FOR JASON ANDERSON AT MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS

ROCKSTAR ENERGY HUSQVARNA RIDER DOMINATES HIS FIRST RACE BUT IS FORCED OUT OF THE EVENT FOLLOWING UNFORTUNATE FINISH LINE ACCIDENT

Proudly representing Team USA, Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Jason Anderson unquestionably left his mark on the 2016 Motocross of Nations by securing a dominant start-to-finish victory in the combined Open and MX2 class race at Maggiora, Italy. Following a hugely unfortunate incident moments after securing the win, Jason was landed on by another rider after crossing the finish line, which resulted in him having to sit out the final race of the day.

The most prestigious race in the annual motocross calendar once again proved to be an incredible sporting event with thousands of fans from all around the world filling the Italian hillside circuit of Maggiora.

Battling his way through a challenging weekend of racing Anderson was left with a mountain to climb after a crash early in Saturday’s qualifying race, which left him with an injured leg. Racing Sunday’s final motos in pain, the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna rider nevertheless put in an hugely impressive performance during the day’s second moto.

With his FC 450 powering him to a convincing holeshot Jason started pulling away from the rest of the field with only Jeffrey Herlings able to match the American’s speed around the spectacular and in places heavily rutted Italian track.

Not giving in to any of Herlings’ attempts to pass him Anderson stayed in front until the finish, managing to open up a comfortable gap after Herlings suffered a minor fall. Unable to contest moto three, Anderson saw Team USA claim third overall at the 2016 Motocross of Nations.

For Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Max Nagl the 2016 MXoN ended prematurely after the German suffered a heavy fall during his qualifying moto on Saturday. Thankfully avoiding any serious injury Nagl decided not to contest Sunday’s final motos.

Representing Great Britain, Max Anstie ended his time aboard Husqvarna’s FC 250 on a high note in Italy. Despite suffering two mediocre starts Anstie collected 18/22 results to help Team Great Britain earn seventh overall at the 2016 Motocross of Nations.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Enduro World Championship regular Pascal Rauchenecker played a major role for Team Austria, securing a strong 15th place in the final Nation’s classification. Battling hard the FC 450 mounted rider secured 23rd in moto two and went on to wrap up the event with 19th in moto three.

Putting in two strong motos Thomas Kjer Olsen helped Team Denmark claim 14th overall. The FC 250 mounted rider wrapped up the event with 15/21 results and a strong eighth place in the final MX2 class standings.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing riders will sign off on their 2016 season by taking part at the first edition of the SMX Riders and Manufacturers Cup on October 8 in Germany.
