Stand-in rider Matt Bisceglia finished 16th overall on the Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing RM-Z450 in front of a large crowd and national television audience on NBC for round four of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship at High Point Raceway in Mount Morris in America at the weekend.

Bisceglia’s stint with the team was extended to include High Point when Yoshimura Suzuki’s regular riders James Stewart and Blake Baggett were not quite 100 percent ready to return this week, as they both work back from injury.

Bisceglia, who turned in a solid ride in his debut 450 Motocross National with an eighth in the last round in Lakewood, Colorado, qualified 16th at High Point.

A total 40 riders lined-up for the start of the first moto and Bisceglia ran 15th in the early going. Then he was able to tap into the power and precision handling of the Yoshimura Suzuki RM-Z450 to make steady progress throughout the moto. By the chequered flag he had worked his way up to 10th.

In the second moto Bisceglia ran into trouble early, crashing in a high-speed section on lap three resulting in a DNF. When the final scores were tallied it was Bisceglia earning 16th overall.

“It was a good first moto,” Bisceglia said. “I fought hard and ended up 10th. Unfortunately, in the second moto I got a good start and was in about 10th again and then on the second or third lap I just came down the corner rollers, swapped-out and high-sided. That ended my day right there. It was a solid day besides that, it was just unfortunate it had to end like that. I gave it everything I had.”

Stewart and Baggett are slated to return as the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship continues next weekend for the fifth round of the season. Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tennessee, will host the Red Bull Tennessee National on Saturday, June 25th.
